The tale of jùn mǎ 俊 马
(François de la Chevalerie)
The most emotional and moving event of the World are the woman’s tears ((lèi shuǐ 泪水).
Look at them, straight in the eye, as the light passes through on its way to a small opening, the pupil.
When tears occur, the universe is trembling.
Nothing finer than the diversity of nature we see all around us, and no greater source of inspiration for humankind.
More beautiful that the breakthrough fall in the Jiuzhaigou valley (九寨沟).
Even more striking that the Osmanthus forest in Guìlín (桂林).
Most imposing that the Yulong (玉龙) mountain in Lìjiāng (丽江).
A far more impenetrable fortress that the Tǎkèlāmǎgān Shāmò 塔克拉玛干沙漠 in the Xinjiang province.
Two women on display.
Deng Lijun (邓丽君), a famous singer, the light of China in the seventees, today somewhere in the heaven.
Nancy Yeung, a Beijing prominent businesswoman, still standing on earth.
Both were at their height, both admired for their vibrant life, their everlasting youth, when they have fallen suddenly, her broken heart, her soul lost.
Deng Lijun tears (Dèng Lìjūn, 邓丽君)
At the beginning of the 1980s, Deng Lijun reaches its height, renowned and admired.
It was then that she partipates at a TV prgram.
In a rather blue decor, she sang love songs from his repertoire, her sweet and deep voice overflowing sensuality, always brimming with hope
The singing tour closing, the entertainer approached her.
- You sing stories teeming with beautiful feelings enlaces in dreams but have you ever known one ?
Suddenly, the Deng Lijun face becomes pale, very pale, almost ghastly, and so thin that her lips were drawn away.
A tear slides down her cheek.
Another one, more abruptly.
So many, reaching her mouth.
She gently puts his hand to his face, trying to hide her desperate sadness.
She trembles in every limb
The entertainer was paralyzed.
- Take your time, he suggested. We can wait all the night long, all our life time, but we wish to see once more in your lovely face a smile, the bright one, the most valuable one, at least an eternal smile.
Nancy Yeung tears
In the Versailles palace gardens, it was a sunny and warm day.
Nancy, in her early thirties, was dressed in a ballooning yellow dress of worn velvet folded thousands of times, spilling over her knees.
It gives her a sensual touch; a promise, an erotic allure, an invitation to dance, a symbol of grace and femininity.
She was smiling as if the earth itself was joining the great chorus of praise to heaven.
She felt as if she had been born yesterday.
She presumed herself innocent from everything, like an angel flying over the earth, the gatekeeper of happiness.
She walked through the park of Versailles, chatting, dancing and smelling the flowers.
After a long march surrounded by mature trees and flowerbeds, she sat nearby the Grand Canal.
The surface water was rippled, with small, glassy-smooth areas near the shoreline where the Grand Canal was sheltered from the wind.
She looked her face at the reflection of the water. Small waves were wrinkling her forehead.
- I have realized my ambition (bào fù 抱负), she whispers. I am traveling all over Europe, moving up and down, flying to far-off lands and exploring the globe. My dream has come true, I am a citizen of the world.
Behind her, the sound of leaves of the trees buffeted by a light wind.
- Traveling or escaping, she continues this time with a shaking voice, fleeing far away an unworkable wedding.
Then a glacial silence.
From her heart escapes a sigh when painful memories emerge from her lips.
She couldn’t breath anymore.
She was the verge of breaking into tears.
Her face showed how crushed and hurt she was.
- What are those demonic and uncontrollable forces that plunged my life into ruin? I prayed ten thousands times in so many churches, so diverse temples to rehabilitate and to reshape my couple. Everywhere, anytime, whenever, the weather cloudy, rainy or sunny.
- More than that, I attended psychology teachings at the university to learn how to recover my faith in love. But, my husband refused to come there, as it was encouraging to do so. He pointed out that he has nothing to do with that. He said that he doesn’t need any support. He was adamant and affirmative that he would follow his own way.
The time went on.
- I am still sharing his life, but I am desperately lonely.
At that time, she recalls the word of her mother at her wedding party, quoting Socrates: “My advice to you is get married: if you find a good husband you’ll be happy; if not, you’ll become a philosopher”.
Then suddenly, she bursts into tears.
- Don’t cry, murmured an angel surfing on the Grand Canal. Water is the driving force of all nature. You should imbue yourself of water and then you will receive the light, the power, and the strength to move ahead. Remember! True love is inexhaustible; the more you give, the more you have. And if you go to draw at the true fountainhead, the more water you draw, the more abundant is its flow.
Then, Nancy smiles again, an exuberant and warming one, as it never be.
- Remember the Sun Tzu principle, concludes the angel, « Believe you can and you’re halfway there ».
